2019 Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan has a new engine, 48V electrical system, fully variable all-wheel drive, larger brakes, and more equipment features. The centerpiece of the new E 53 Sedan is the electrified AMG-enhanced 3.0L in-line 6 Turbo Engine with EQ Boost featuring an electric auxiliary compressor. The in-line 6-cylinder engine generates an output of 429HP and delivers a peak torque of 384 lb-ft, which is supplemented with an electric EQ Boost starter generator. Other technical highlights include the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission and the fully variable all-wheel drive system, AMG Performance 4MATIC+.
The interior of the new AMG E 53 Sedan is available with AMG Performance Seats with an AMG-specific upholstery and available AMG Carbon Fiber trim. The new, standard-fit AMG Performance steering wheel in black Nappa leather with red 12 o'clock marking offers extensive individualization options such as DINAMICA or Black Piano Lacquer trim. Many functions such as Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC can be activated with the controls in the horizontal steering wheel spokes. 
The E 53 Sedan has two power domes on the hood and round twin tailpipe trim elements in high-gloss chrome (in black chrome with Night package). The rear bumper has a diffuser "look," because, well, you just can't get enough of that. Other stuff? 20-inch, twin five-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels and an AMG Driver's Package that for the first time allows increasing the electronically limited top speed in the new E 53 models to 130 mph (Only 130 mph? WTF?) The standard AMG Sport Braking system features cross-drilled and vented 14.2" brake discs with four-piston fixed calipers in the front (with AMG lettering), and 14.2" discs with single-piston floating calipers in the rear. The new Mercedes-AMG E 53 Sedan joins the new AMG E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet models, and replaces the previous AMG E 43 Sedan model. The AMG E 53 Sedan will be available in the U.S. by late 2018.
Ford is upgrading the 2019 F-150 Raptor with class-exclusive, electronically controlled FOX shocks, new Trail Control and all-new Recaro sport seats. The upgrades are focused on improving key components that have made F-150 Raptor the benchmark in off-road trucks. To enhance Raptor’s already proven internal bypass shocks, Ford Performance worked directly with FOX to develop all-new electronically controlled Live Valve technology for the new platform that continuously adjusts damping in real time. This class-exclusive setup uses sensors in the suspension and body to maximize comfort, handling and bottom-out resistance. “By automatically varying compression rates, Raptor can now make the most of its suspension travel of 13 inches at the front and 13.9 inches at the rear,” said Hermann Salenbauch, global director, Ford Performance vehicle programs. “The 2019 Raptor is not just more capable off-road. It’s smarter.” Paired with Raptor’s Terrain Management SystemTM, Live Valve suspension technology can increase the truck’s high-speed off-road capability, while also enabling smooth on-road driving performance. “Not many trucks need sensors to detect when you are midair,” said Salenbauch. “Raptor sets the dampers to full stiffness to help smooth shock performance as the truck lands.” Low-speed performance off road is also improved. New Trail Control helps F-150 Raptor drivers navigate challenging conditions. It’s like cruise control for low-speed, rugged terrain, automatically adjusting power and braking to each individual wheel to allow drivers to focus on steering over rugged terrain. Trail Control can be activated at speeds from 1 mph up to 20 mph depending on driveline position. All-new available Recaro sport feature blue Alcantara inserts and accent stitching inspired by the Light Speed-colored interior of the Ford GT. The Raptor is available in new colors for 2019 including Ford Performance Blue, Velocity Blue and Agate Black. The upgraded 2019 F-150 Raptor will be built at Dearborn Truck Plant and goes on sale in late 2018.
